“Children are a gift from the LORD …”
Psalm 127:3
The PFF Ministry has decided to support the Christian children and youth aid organization „Die Arche“ in Berlin. In 2009 there are different activities planned:
- On June 19, 2009 the Arche will be celebrating their annual court festival in Berlin-Hellersdorf (14:00 – 18:00 hrs). The PFF choir has been invited and many voluntarily helping hands are needed to work in various booths.
- On July 10, 2009 the Arche is celebrating their summer fest in Berlin-Friedrichshain (14:00 – 18:00 hrs). The PFF Choir has been heartily invited there, too.
- Year around the Arche gladly accepts clothes for their children and youth. They need clothes from baby size to size S. PFF will organize a clothes drive for the Arche.
- On September 6, 2009 the leader of the Arche Pastor Siggelkow and staff members, children and young adults, will attend the PFF worship service. After the service we will have a dinner together in the church.
- For Christmas this year the PFF Ministry will participate in getting Christmas presents for the kids in the Arche in Berlin-Hellersdorf
What is the Arche?
The Christian children and youth aid organization „Die Arche”e.V. was founded in Berlin in 1995 by Bernd Siggelkow. The purpose of the association is to get kids off the street, to agitate against social deficits as well as bring kids back in the centre of the community. In its facilities the Arche provides daily a free nutritious and warm meal, assistance in homework, meaningful recreation with sport and music and most of all a lot of attention, because kids need acknowledgement to increase their self-confidence. They need to feel important and loved. By now there are five locations of the Arche in Germany — more will follow, because unfortunately the need is tremendous. Currently 70 staff members supervise 1000 kids and young adults in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Potsdam.
